What do you want to be when you grow up? Ask our Communications and Events Director and she’ll tell you she wanted to be a cake decorator. Ask our CEO and she’ll tell you that she wanted to be a lawyer! Today, Labor Day, is a great opportunity to help your children dream about what they could be when they grow up.   Spend some time this Labor Day exploring different possible career paths with your children. Ask them what they want to be when they grow up and find out why. Turn this into a fun art project by having your children draw a picture of themselves as adults. Read together about different occupations. Talk about the fact that we have this special holiday to celebrate the importance of the diverse workers who support families, communities, and the country.

Enjoy the end of the summer – read together, draw together, and dream together. Have a reading marathon with your children and have them pick their favorite books to read with you. Have your children act out different jobs that they think they may want to be when they grow up. Here are some great books that are wonderful to read today in celebration of Labor Day!
