ParentChild+ Receives Historic Increase to $4M in Massachusetts FY23 State Budget

BOSTON, MA – On July 28th, Governor Baker signed into law the FY23 Massachusetts state budget, which includes a historic increase for ParentChild+ programming, bringing its total state budget funding to $4M. This over 20% increase from FY22 will support expansion into new MA communities, increased capacity at its 42 existing sites, and compensation for the dedicated ParentChild+ home visiting staff.

Senate supporter and budget champion Senator Joan Lovely said, “We have worked hard for many sessions to continue to increase funding for this vital program, which positively impacts thousands of families and children across the Commonwealth. I am honored to continue fighting for ParentChild+ and thrilled by this historic increase in funding.”

Chairman Tony Cabral, longtime House champion for the program, also underscored his gratitude to the legislature for funding this critical program, and added, “MA has been rightfully prioritizing early education and care, including educators’ salaries. We look forward to ensuring that as we continue those conversations, early learning and home visiting programs like ParentChild continue to be a part of these conversations.”
